    "Sweat" @ Goodman Theatre

Jomblette, who has a good eye for these things, tells me that "Sweat" is up there with the best stage productions she has seen. The play is in previews and will formally open March 18, closing April 14.

Every night at every play will be different for every viewer, and we all arrive at every subject from a different direction - but still, I imagine this will be something quite unique. I have yet to see it and am looking forward to it.

Chicago really is the finest drama stage in North America, second only to London for dramatic productions in any language. We're lucky to have it so easily accessible.

Reviews are starting to come in after last night`s opening:

'Sweat' at Goodman Theatre: Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer winner set in a factory town is now in Chicago — and better than Broadway's ...(the Goodman) production is the superior piece of work.

...(the director) finds more humor in this piece (which might sound strange, I know) and raises the stakes far higher. He could do none of this without a cast willing to go there with him.
