I guess it's not quite a record, but it was a beautiful day. Out there.
Well, Curly says

I think I just heard the old fire station horn blaring, and then saw some very, very fast moving police cars. I hope everyone is well.
Is that siren still used? I can't remember the last time I noticed it, and I can't imagine what else could have made that sound.
Sure it wasn't the 6 o'clock whistle?
6 o'clock whistle?Yes, it did remind me of it, but it was near 8.
I'll guess it was just jomblette and I that heard it, as no one else seemed to be walking around.

My son heard something at about that time and asked me if someone's alarm was going off outside. I peaked my head out and I heard what sounded like a very loud metra train idling at College Ave. Station.
Did you two get a chance to spend any quality time out "there"?
I heard a train going through and at first I associated the sound to that, but then the train went away and the sound continued unabated. There may also have been an idling train that I didn't pick up on and it could have been a frozen and stuck on high train whistle.
I'm going with train at this point, but that siren went on for at least two minutes.

the real screams will be heard when the kids realize they have to go to school until the second week of June.
And then the parents who already booked vacations for that week will start screaming....
