    Danada Deli

I used to frequent this place when it was located in Danada Square. Great homemade soups and Eastern European dishes such as stuffed cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, goulash, etc. They closed shop at that location a while back in 2018, but just recently re-opened on Lorraine and Roosevelt. (1801 E Roosevelt)

Check it out - they update their daily specials on Facebook.

Their deli sandwich menu is merely OK, but their homemade soups, daily specials and homemade pastries is where they shine.

Thanks for the heads up. I just noticed this sign yesterday while turning onto Lorraine. Will definitely give it a shot. Is the stuffed cabbage a golumpki (Polish) or some other country's version?

I think the proprietors are Transylvanian? (Good immigrants, the BEST.) The stuffed cabbage that I tried was without tomato sauce. I think they make two kinds. One with fermented cabbage (sauerkraut - which is what I had) and one with fresh cabbage and tomato sauce. They were huge. Two such stuffed rolls led to a mighty Saturday afternoon nap.
