    Holiday displays

Please post any holiday displays that are worth checking out. Lilac park in Lombard has a great display, but suggest you go on a warmer night. The displays go on December 1.

if you are talking Illuminations, it was pretty cool this year. They have a set up of a projector on a huge bank of tress and the images they project make it look like the trees are moving....

    They do a good job.

This is from several years ago, when it was about 11 degrees out. Photographer's note: shooting colored LED's in the dark is not very easy. The histograms are very messed up if you edit them.

yep, that is what I was talking about. Pretty impressive. Even just driving by the Arboretum at night is pretty darn cool.

Oh, that should be something! I can't even imaging Glen Ullin in winter, much less seeing vacant buildings and grain elevators along South Avenue with holiday decorations and lights. Might have to go a couple blocks south where most of the houses are. Good luck.

No Glen Ullin shots, I had hoped. When I hit Glen Ullin it was dark, which was good, but fogged in. Hit a lot of fog in the evenings. From Missoula to Glen Ellyn, hardly any snow north of the Illinois state line, Montana was in the 50s, North Dakota 40s...lot of fog in valleys at night.

Well shoot! That's disappointing. I will try to get some shots up soon of the Nights of 1,000 Candles from Brookgreen Gardens in S.C. That was really something. Easily rivals the Arboretum.

Here is a brief look at Night of 1000 Candles:

Lilacia Park, Lombard, 2018 lights display. This was taken a couple hours ago. Just not the same without the snow on the ground, but still nice. It was very crowded!
