Village's estimates on the 2019 plan for the new businesses in GE. Both Sushi Ukai and Two Hound Red still on the list (although this may be the 3rd annual 'estimate' for 2HR). First time I've seen Rasing Cane in a formal estimate as well. Plus Pete's FM moved to the summer.

Raising Cane's going into the old ARby's? when did that shut down?

We got a Raising Cane's by us a couple months ago....get ready for a ton of traffic to buy over priced chicken tenders....

Raising Canes is a real test of how much you can get away with. It has an unusually small and limited menu, centered around near $20 a pound chicken fingers available by the piece. But yes, the one I know (and was at yesterday afternoon on the East Coast) has constant lines. It must be all the goodness they pack in to the 68 calorie an ounce chicken to pump it up to the roughly one ounce 140 calorie Raising Cane`s finger....

It will probably be a huge hit until the novelty wears off, at which point the initial investors will have cashed in and be long gone. It seems there is always a new over-hyped concept just around the corner. Who remembers the roll out of Boston Chicken, Krispy Kreme, etc?

As an aside on the general concept, there does seem to be movement around dumbing down and simplification for the consumer. I personally see broad parallels between this and say, Marianos.

Food, service and crowd was good. Nice opening. I'm sure they "moved" some of their staff here to get it off the ground, it showed.
