    Nobel House

Restaurant Group Bringing Secret Sauce to Downtown Glen Ellyn with Additional Location (link)

"In an effort to continue serving its long time loyal clientele relocating from city to suburbs and increasing demand for its menu type, Bonehead Entertainment is opening its second suburban location in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

"We made a name for ourselves in locations like Roscoe Village, Lincoln Square and Wrigleyville serving Generation X and Millennials who demanded a wide variety of high quality, fresh food and a significant craft beer menu with a fun atmosphere. With many of our clientele having families and moving from these city neighborhoods to the suburbs like Geneva and Glen Ellyn, we are seeing an increase in demand for our offerings wherever they plant roots long term." - Jason Levin, Co-Founder. "Our customers want to have easy access to a neighborhood restaurant that gives them that same experience they had in the city, but also caters to their entire family including children." – Dave Cilio, Co-Founder.

This new restaurant named Nobel House will be located in the heart of downtown Glen Ellyn, Illinois at 419 N. Main Street, the former Soukups Hardware Store. The group is planning approximately 3,300 square feet inside on the main level with a large back patio and seating outside in front on Main Street for patrons. It is directly across from Glen Ellyn's main shopping district parking lot.

While the specific menu items are still being finalized, the plan is..."

On Tuesday it seemed like both spaces got it in gear...Nobel House was hanging the awning structure and taking down the iron grillwork between the first and second floor exterior...meanwhile next door, the Sushi place had the door open with lots of bodies and noise.

Shave that guys head and you've got a grizzled Captain Picard.

I'm looking forward to accepting a few Peace Prizes in there.

Went there Saturday and all I kept thinking throughout the meal was, "God, we already have a half dozen places like this downtown."

If the progress here is anything like I saw in the Sushi place, they will be lucky to be open by Thanksgiving

The contractor guy on Facebook said they're about a month out, one week ago. He also says he's "One Man, One Project", but appears to have at least 3 big projects...

Looks like "one man" indicated ~6 weeks until opening on Saturday. With Sushi Ukai looking to require more work then that and Two Hound Red continuing their 2 year odyssey, it appears we'll be well into the fall before enjoying any new dining options in the downtown business district.
