Katelyn Hart wins National Regional Meet!

Nearly set the course record and won the race and the right to compete against the nation's best in Portland, Oregon. Lindsey Payne finished a credible 26th, she was in good shape around 8th place with a quarter mile to go but faded and appeared to be limping at the finish.

Katelynne Hart finished a solid 18th out of 200 runners at the NXN National Championship and made All-American as a freshman. She finished ahead of the entire Fayetteville-Manlius team, which won the team race.

    Katelynne still very fast:
"But it was no problem, as she built a cushion and still grabbed the [Glenbard West 3200m] record -- which was previously held by Lindsey Graham at 10:22.53. Better yet, Hart earned a U.S. No. 1 mark in the 3200m with a time of 10:15.95."

Katelynne ran 4:48.60 1600m at York over the weekend, so now looks like she is holding #1 state rank for 800, 1600, & 3200 as a freshman.

They are running out of superlatives for this amazing young lady...

Glenbard West freshman Hart completes rare triple play (link) — Daily Herald

"In the history of the state, no female has ever swept the three races between 800 and 3,200 meters at a girls track and field state meet. But there may have been a sneak preview Saturday in Glen Ellyn.

It was only fitting Katelynne Hart attends Glenbard West. The 15-year-old freshman has boggled minds and turned heads among adults associated with the sport the entire season."
