Al probably photographed someone from every family in GE over that time. Probably a lot more. I can't even imagine how many GE people he did photograph. His archives must be huge and would be a great resource. The photos he has.

We chatted a few times. Sad to hear. He was the Glen Ellyn Photographer. RIP Al.

Like a broken record, another long-time Glen Ellynite who loved this community and volunteered to make it a better place...

I was fortunate to know Robert through volunteer work, wonderful man, RIP.

Robert Chambers, co-author of comprehensive Glen Ellyn history book, dies at 93 (link) — Chicago Tribune

"Robert W. Chambers was a lifelong Glen Ellyn resident whose love of history culminated in his co-authoring of “Glen Ellyn: A Village Remembered,” a comprehensive book about his hometown."

Bunting on Civic Center, thinking it is to honor him...nice gesture.

Hell. Also, the eternal soul and final salvation for all.

Dead, according to a reported interview with the Pope. ... Happy Easter.

Per the story, this reporter does not use a recorder or take notes during his interviews. He "recreates" them later from his memory. Amazing fella........

Elizabeth Moore, former math teacher at Glenbard West High School (link) Chicago Tribune

I know there are Forumers that are West Alumni...she retired in 1980, but some here may have known her...

"Elizabeth May Peterson Moore taught mathematics at Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn for two decades.

“She was a kind, caring person who had a way with students,” recalled Cleveland Holmes, a retired Glenbard West math teacher. “She got through to them, and she was well-respected by students and by the department.”

I am an alum, and a former student of Moore's. I don't remember all of the class I had with her, but I am absolutely sure she tried her very best to get me to learn whatever the class was about. She didn't fail me - I failed all by myself. I am married to a former college math teacher, so whatever math I need, help is close by.

EDIT: Just read the obit. 97 - oh my! Looks like she had a very long and interesting life. I also remember her husband at Glenbard.
