The slowest build/renovation in history continues at a snail's pace.

Weird. There will be people working there for three days in a row, then nobody is there for two weeks. Maybe it is the same contractor working on McMae's...not a lot doing there either.

Or the could be waiting for the city inspector to stop by and approve ___________. That seems to be a GE tradition.

    Cue Clamato in 5....4....3....

I'll just say that if the proprietor of that place ever approached me to become an investor as he allegedly had approached a number of other Glen Ellynites, I'd have declined the offer.

Suffice it to say that he is a little behind schedule.

I know the building renos proved to be more complex then the owners anticipated (per several articles on suburban papers). So we're either talking about the slow progress related to securing additional funds to complete or village/state permits/inspections required or both.

Hope we see it up and running by St. Patty's day. The first 6 months of 2018 could bring 4 new eateries in the downtown business district. Tough to cut your teeth with all the new and existing competition.

The next owner of this place will likely do quite well.

Glen Ellyn Tradition: Throw a ****-ton of money into a place, flop, sell for pennies on the dollar to someone who knows what they are doing a year point five after opening.

Coming in late 2019 to a phormer pharmacy near you . . . Fan and Clam's Eatery and Concert Venue

Get Roger as you bartender/music coordinator and your golden.

Or as BitterBoy has suggested, a nice martini bar in GE would do well.

I predict no success for a place with "Clam Eatery" in the name.

Funny you mention Roger. Filled in for him as bartender at a gala in town . . . . a lot of people loved me. Guessing many did not.
