The slowest build/renovation in history continues at a snail's pace.
I'll just say that if the proprietor of that place ever approached me to become an investor as he allegedly had approached a number of other Glen Ellynites, I'd have declined the offer.
Suffice it to say that he is a little behind schedule.
I know the building renos proved to be more complex then the owners anticipated (per several articles on suburban papers). So we're either talking about the slow progress related to securing additional funds to complete or village/state permits/inspections required or both.
Hope we see it up and running by St. Patty's day. The first 6 months of 2018 could bring 4 new eateries in the downtown business district. Tough to cut your teeth with all the new and existing competition.
Get Roger as you bartender/music coordinator and your golden.
Or as BitterBoy has suggested, a nice martini bar in GE would do well.
I predict no success for a place with "Clam Eatery" in the name.
There are variations to consider

What would food and drink look like at Fan and Clam's Eatery and Concert Venue, I wonder?

G'day fellers & mademoiselles. It's been a long, long time since I tuned in here. I've missed each and ev'ry one of youse more than you know. That I have, and I knows the feelin's mutual. I cain't say that I have any special knowledge of the strange-goings-on at the old Schmidery. Heck, I ain't seen the place in far too long. Needless t' say, they din't ask me or the missus to invest in the project neither, and if'n they had, I'd've had t' borrow a few simoleons from old Clammy and that other feller I used to know...and neither one of them has advanced me as much as a minor crypto in who-knows-how-long. Besides' I live much too far away now.
Say, any of you fellers seen my old sidekick anywheres?
Happy New Year Swampdawg. I heard PM was off to California to try some wacky tabacky.
Happy New Year, to you too, Yoshi! It's right nice to hear from you. I always knew you as an affable type and among the wiser sort back in the Shire. (Damn few of us left - 'specially residin' outside the black gates of Mordor as I do now.) It's too bad about ol' PM though. He was none too stable to begin with - you might'a noticed - but I hear tell he finally went right off the rails. All that fancy joe he was drinkin' din't help. That, and afillin' his mind with the drivel in them blasted New York newspapers all them years....
