Says a lot about a community when a police department has to warn residents about their own stupidity...

Lowell Police Department tells residents not to 'challenge' snow plows (link)

"After shoveling the entire length of your driveway, the last thing you want to see is a pile of snow appear at the end of it as a result from city plowing. However, although the sight of those snow piles drive us crazy, the city snow plows are just trying to do their jobs, according to the Lowell Police Department. They posted on Facebook telling residents not to walk out in front of a city snow plow with their shovels.

In a graphic, detailed post, they said, "If the truck doesn't crush you and kill you instantly, the blade will dismember your body and you'll bleed out before any help arrives."

"We have someone wanting to be a Darwin Award Candidate," they said in a comment on the post. "Not something to be proud of."

Many, many publication/sites use a subscription based editorial stock service...it clearly says it from Getty and most publications are careful not to caption it. I searched Getty and couldn't locate that photo to "place" it. Most papers got rid of their photo staff and editors years ago...many rely on freelancers in a pinch, "borrow" from Facebook/Instagram when needed (TV news does as well), and stock photography. Quite often they "start" with a stock photo and alter it to align with their story.

Case in point, if you look close, you'll notice most of the photos of Trump this past year are photoshopped stock pictures from Getty...they usually start with an an orangutan, pile of dung or a Cheeto and then build upon it until they get the likeness...

Chap named Halil Dag celebrates his birthday and his death. For the record, 2018 is not a leap year, next one is 2020.

Halil, who was celebrating his birthday, plunged 150ft down the cliff to his death (link) Daily Mail

"This is the horrifying moment a man fell to his death on his birthday while posing on top of a cliff for a photo. Footage shows Halil Dağ leaping down off a rock at the historic Urfa Castle in southern Turkey before losing his balance and tumbling off a cliff edge. Despite scrambling to grab hold of something to stop his fall, the 39-year-old father-of-eight plunged 150ft, landing near a Kurdish restaurant at the bottom."

The gene pool that continually aspires for this award seems to find infinite ways to achieve their goal...

Rob Gronkowski tells everyone not to eat Tide Pods (link) — USA Today

Something called the "Tide Pod Challenge" has been going viral online recently. It's extremely dangerous and involves people posting videos of themselves putting the toxic laundry detergent pods in their mouths and eating them.

In an effort to spread the word that the pods are not for eating, Tide got the help of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to tell everyone, "What the heck is going on, people? Use Tide Pods for washing. Not eating. Do not eat."
